🚻 Self-Introduction

Please be mindful about pronouns. If you anticipate mistakes from others, please take another name tag for your pronouns to be displayed next to your name, and gently correct others when mistakes are made.

💼 Keep the Secrets

Avoid the Grimoire

The Grimoire is the big box your Storyteller holds and it contains all secrets of Ravenswoods Bluff, including the identity of every player in the game. An accidental peek could release forbidden knowledge into the town!

Avoid Revealing Your Identity

Character tokens are sticky - please ensure you took only one from the bag. Keep the black side of your token up and guard the other side carefully. Put the token in your palm and lift your hand high, above other players’ eye line, for the Storyteller to collect it.

When reading the script immediately after characters are assigned, avoid staring at your character for too long; otherwise, your “nosy” neighbour may be able to guess which section of the script your character belongs to, which can be bad if they are not on your team.

🌓 Night + Day Phases

Night Phase

Open your eyes only if you feel the Storyteller taps you to wake you up. Communication between you and the Storyteller happens through written words and small body gestures. Hold onto any questions you have until the Night phase passes. If your eyes are closed, you are allowed to have public or private discussions with others.

Day Phase

You are free to have private chats and public discussions before the Storyteller calls for a townsquare meeting. Remember where you sit and always return to the same seat.

Nominations

Multiple nominations can happen in a single Day, but each player is allowed to nominate and be nominated only once per Day. State your reason briefly when nominating and the player being nominated will be given a chance to defend themselves before voting happens.

Voting

Storyteller collects votes for execution for the nominated player, clockwise, starting from the player sitting next to them and ending at themselves. If your hand is not raised when the Storyteller’s hand passes in front of you, your vote will not be counted.

Executions

If votes for a nominated player exceeds half of the living player count, they are eligible for an execution.

For example, a player needs to have 4 votes to be eligible if 8 players are alive, and 2 votes if 3 players are alive.
